The golden pages in the history of Kyiv were written down during the reign of Kyiv princes – Volodymyr the Great and his son – Yaroslav the Wise – the famous rulers of Kyivan Rus. During the walking tour «Ancient Kyiv» we will visit the «town of Volodymyr» and the «town of Yaroslav». We will symbolically enter the old Kyiv through the Golden gate and we will admire the uniqueness of Saint Sophia Cathedral – the world known church for its history, architecture and unique inner decorations. We will touch the most ancient history of our country looking at the mosaics and frescos which were made 1000 years ago!
We will see the beauty of St. Michael Golden Domed cathedral – the temple with a distinguishing feature – glittering golden domes.
Kyiv funicular is an unusual mode of transport which has been operating since 1905! During the tour we will see this «transport gem» of the city.
We will visit the place where the Kyiv was founded – Ancient Kyiv hill. From an observation deck you will admire the oldest Kyiv landscape and you will feel the true atmosphere of Kyiv’s Acropolis!
From the attractive St. Andrew’s church Andrew’s descent begins. It is the most touristic place in Kyiv where you can buy memorable Ukrainian souvenirs. Cobbled road, a lot of paintings, souvenirs, cafes, several theaters and museums, nice music… What can be better than walking along the street of such creative and romantic atmosphere?
After the walking tour along Ancient Kyiv you see the most interesting city landmarks and you will prove the proverb that «ñity needs to be seen on foot»!
